A stunning white from this team, the 2022 Beckstoffer Melrose Vineyard Proprietary White is 70% Semillon and 30% Sauvignon that will see 22 months in barrel. It's a richer, Bordeaux Blanc-like effort with ripe stone and citrus fruits, medium body, some sappy, minty herb notes, good mid-palate concentration, and outstanding length. It has both concentration and acidity and is a serious white in the making.
There should be approximately 90 cases of the new 2022 Proprietary White Rarefied Air Beckstoffer Melrose once it is bottled. A 70-30 blend of Sémillon and Sauvignon Blanc, barrel fermented and aged, it offers up scents of toast, citrus, pear, melon and dried spices. Only medium-bodied, it's streamlined and elegant, with a lingering finish.
