Wine reviews
Slightly lifted and floral on the nose, the 2021 Nomad Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Missouri Hopper also boasts dark scents of licorice, cassis and plum. It's a full-bodied, richly concentrated and velvety-textured offering, one that will have fans and detractors, simply because of its super ripe style and hints of warmth on the long finish. – JC
The 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon NOMAD Beckstoffer Missouri Hopper Vineyard is more high-toned, with beautiful black and blue fruits as well as espresso, pipe tobacco, and chocolate-driven aromas and flavors. It's concentrated and full-bodied, has lots of background oak, building tannins, and outstanding length. It needs 2-4 years to integrate its oak, but it should have two decades of overall longevity. - J.D.
This is ripe, sleek and very alive, showcasing the vintage's typically energetic profile in the form of vivid violet, cassis, plum and boysenberry aromas and flavors. Offers ample grip on the finish, which brims with roasted apple wood and licorice snap accents as the fruit drives through. Best from 2025 through 2042. 200 cases made. - J.M.
