2021 J.H. Wheeler Cabernet Sauvignon
Beckstoffer Georges III Vineyard
Jeb Dunnuck 96 Points
December 2023

Coming from the eastern portion of this large vineyard and vines right up against the Silverado Trail, the 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Georges III Vineyard is also terrific, with perfumed blue fruits, leafy tobacco, chocolate, and lead pencil-like notes to go with full-bodied richness and depth on the palate. It's balanced and has considerable elegance (one of the hallmarks of this diverse site), fine tannins, and a great finish. It's impeccably made and will evolve for 15-20 years in cold cellars. – JD

This is well-crafted, with a large core of cassis and plum puree dotted with light notes of violet, anise and sweet tobacco and then giving a burnished, toasty finish. Drink now through 2038. 179 cases made. - J.M.
