Wine reviews
The 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Missouri Hopper Vineyard boasts harmonious aromas of ripe cherries married to hints of mint, sage and dusty earth. Full-bodied and round in the mouth, this is luscious but with a fine framework of tannins and a long, bright finish that portend well for its longevity in the cellar. – JC
I continue to think this valley floor site is underrated. The 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Missouri Hopper Vineyard sports a vivid purple hue as well as a ripe, black-fruited profile revealing lots of minerality, tobacco, and darker chocolate notes. It's full-bodied, concentrated, has plenty of tannins, and a great finish. There's a plushness here that gives it plenty of upfront appeal, yet it's also going to age beautifully. – JD
This delivers a gush of boysenberry puree, cassis and plum compote flavors flanked by a dark licorice note and underscored with warm tobacco and vanilla accents on the muscular finish. Drink now through 2037. 244 cases made. - J.M.
