Coming mostly from Clone 4 Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard The Grand Daddy is another dense purple-hued effort offering incredible purity in its ripe black fruits, scorched earth, liquid violet, new leather, and graphite-driven aromas and flavors. Ripe, voluptuous, flawlessly balanced, and as hedonistic as 2021 gets, this stunningly beautiful Cabernet is far from unapproachable today yet will nevertheless benefit from 2-4 years of bottle age and cruise over the following two decades or more. (It will probably merit a three-digit rating at maturity.) This is insanely good! – JD
The 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard The Grand Daddy is slightly more focused and tight, yet has similar exotic blue fruits as well as some floral, herbal, mineral-driven nuances. Full-bodied and concentrated, with ripe yet building tannins, this beauty is going to check in near the top of the scale at maturity. – JD
