Wine reviews
The 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Georges III Vineyard comes from a rocky vineyard in Rutherford and is all varietal. A killer bottle of wine, it offers both red and black fruits as well as ample spice and dried flower notes, medium to full body, ripe tannins, and beautifully integrated oak. It's a classic 2021 that brings good ripeness and concentration while staying fresh and focused. Give it 2-4 years and enjoy over the following 15+. – JD
Amulet Estate's section of this vineyard is close to Conn Creek, an area where the Army Corps of Engineers once deposited river stone that was removed when they deepened the watercourse. Matured in about 50% Taransaud barrels, plus a few other coopers, the 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Georges III offers up striking aromas of cinnamon, clove and allspice sprinkled over gently warmed cherries. It's medium to full-bodied, richly concentrated, and velvet textured on the palate, with a long, vibrant finish. – JC
