2019 Stewart Cabernet Sauvignon NOMAD
Beckstoffer Bourn Vineyard
Wine Spectator 94 Points
October 2022

Richly rendered, with steeped plum and fig notes mixed with boysenberry compote and melted licorice, all kept lively with a brambly edge that runs underneath. Frankly toasted through the finish, but the fruit keeps up. Best from 2023 through 2035. 150 cases made. – JM

At only 12 acres, this is a relatively small site, but the resulting wine is powerful and mighty. It shows great structure and length, with a minty, spicy undercurrent met by crushed rock, caramel and black cherry. Enjoy 2029- 2034. Cellar Selection.

The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Nomad Beckstoffer Bourn Vineyard showed beautifully, with classic cassis and blue fruits as well as complex notes of bay leaf/bouquet garni, sappy flowers, tobacco, iron, and hints of spice. It’s balanced, has fine tannins, terrific balance, and a great finish. It might even have some upside with a few years of bottle age. It should deliver the goods for two decades.

Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2019 Nomad Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Bourn Vineyard rolls effortlessly out of the the glass with vibrant notes of Morello cherries, boysenberries and blackcurrant preserves, plus suggestions of crushed rocks, wild sage and cigars. Firm and chewy in the medium to full-bodied mouth, the generous black fruit is offset by just enough freshness, and it finishes with a spicy lift.
