Wine reviews
Sleek in style, with a lovely sense of purity to the cassis and cherry reduction notes inlaid with a subtle iron thread. Offers a pretty floral lift in the background from a steady violet note, and the finish has a tug of warm earth to keep it honest. 125 cases made. – J.M.
Darker fruits, black olive, tobacco, and gravelly earth, as well as a beautiful floral character emerge from the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon. A full-bodied, deep, utterly seamless, and compelling Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. The purity here is just off the charts, it’s perfectly balanced, and it has that rare mix of elegance and richness that characterizes truly great wines. – JD
Made from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, the deep garnet-purple 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Dr. Crane Vineyard wafts out of the glass with savory notes of black olives, dried Provence herbs and charcuterie, over a core of crème de cassis, blueberry compote and mulberries, plus hints of crushed rocks and violets. Full-bodied, rich, plush and multilayered with tons of black and blue fruits, it finishes long and fragrant. 150 cases were made. – LPB
