Very deep purple-black in color, the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Missouri Hopper Vineyard charges out of the gate with exuberant scents of crushed black cherries, wild blueberries and crème de cassis, plus suggestions of licorice, charcoal and damp soil with a waft of black truffles. The rich, seductive, full-bodied palate delivers impactful black fruit preserves layers with a solid backbone of velvety tannins and just enough freshness, finishing long with a spicy kick. (Tasted as a barrel sample, being aged in 100% new French oak.) – LPB
