Completely jam-packed, this is a well-endowed, muscular wine that brims with steeped black currant, fig and boysenberry flavors, supported in turn by beams of cocoa, warm earth, anise and smoldering tobacco. The dense, grippy, tar-edged finish has the energy for balance, with the fruit showing ample cut all the way through. For those who like them big. Best from 2023 through 2040. 425 cases made. – J.M
