Wine reviews
The deep garnet-purple colored 2018 Cabernet Franc Beckstoffer To Kalon opens with a gorgeous nose of Morello cherries, redcurrant jelly, blackberry pie and stewed red plums plus hints of wilted roses, Ceylon tea, pencil shavings and underbrush. Full-bodied and full-on seductive in the mouth, the soft, velvety-textured palate is laden with rich red and black fruit preserves, featuring loads of floral and mineral accents on the long, long finish. – LPB
Another heavenly wine is the 2018 Cabernet Franc Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard, which may be my favorite in the lineup. Sporting a deep purple color as well as a gorgeous perfume of crème de cassis, graphite, spring flower, crème brulée, and tobacco, it just glides across the palate with full-bodied richness, beautiful tannins, no hard edges, and that rare mix of elegance and power that only truly great wines possess. It's gorgeous today yet I see no reason it won't keep for at least 15-20 years. – JD
