2018 Memento Mori  Cabernet Sauvignon
Beckstoffer Dr. Crane Vineyard
Wine Spectator 94 Points
October 2021

Juicy and driven, with lively plum sauce, raspberry reduction and cassis flavors pumping through, backed by roasted apple wood and tobacco accents on the well-structured finish. Best from 2022 through 2036. 130 cases made. – JM

Darker fruits, black olive, tobacco, and gravelly earth, as well as a beautiful floral character emerge from the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Dr. Crane Vineyard, a full-bodied, deep, utterly seamless, and compelling Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. The purity here is just off the charts, it’s perfectly balanced, and it has that rare mix of elegance and richness that characterizes truly great wines. – JD

In the same ballpark as the 2016 (I’m probably underrating it), the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Dr. Crane Vineyard boasts a serious, age-worthy, full-bodied, powerful style that offers Graves-like blackcurrants, scorched earth, tobacco leaf, and chocolate. It’s young, unevolved, and primary, yet the purity and freshness of the vintage are front and center This is a magical Cabernet that’s going to benefit from 4-5 years of bottle age and cruise for two decades or more. – JD
