Sporting a deep garnet-purple color, the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Las Piedras Vineyard La Verdad gives up compelling notes of fresh black and red currants, ripe black plums, wild blueberries and cedar chest with wafts of oolong tea, charcoal and Indian spices plus a fragrant suggestion of lavender. The densely laden, fullbodied palate is jam-packed with black and blue fruit preserves, featuring a firm, grainy-textured backbone and just enough freshness, finishing long and perfumed. – LPB
