Available in magnums only, the deep garnet-purple colored 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer To Kalon The GTO needs a little coaxing to reveal slowly unfurling notes of blackcurrant preserves, blackberry pie, fruitcake and molten licorice with suggestions of chocolate-covered cherries, wild sage, cedar chest and fragrant earth. Fullbodied, the palate is seductively generous, featuring bold black fruit preserves and a firm, grainy foundation with an underpinning of soft, beautifully balanced acidity, finishing on a long-lingering exotic spice note. – LPB
