Wine reviews
A barrel sample (aging in 100% new French oak), the 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Las Piedras Vineyard is very deep purple-black in color and offers up expressive notes of red and black cherries, black raspberries and mulberries with wafts of cassis, potpourri, bay leaves and pencil shavings. The palate is incredibly expressive with a grainy texture and tons of freshness framing the vivacious red and black fruits, finishing long and perfumed. To be released in the spring of 2019.
The 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Las Piedras comes from a rocky vineyard that normally yields a more elegant, floral wine compared to the Dr. Crane Vineyard, which is just a stone’s throw away. Deep purple-hued with notes of blackcurrants, toasted spice, flowery incense, and cigar tobacco, this rock star of a wine hits the palate with full-bodied richness, a lush, opulent texture, ripe tannins, and a great, great finish.
