2017 Vice Versa Cabernet Sauvignon
Beckstoffer Dr. Crane Vineyard
The Wine Advocate 92-94 Points
October 2018

A barrel sample (aging in 100% new French oak) the deep garnet-purple colored 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Dr. Crane Vineyard gives up beautiful warm redcurrants, kirsch, black cherry and wild blueberry with touches of cedar chest, lavender, dried herbs and earth. The palate is medium-bodied, elegant, vibrant and fresh with nicely played, grainy tannins, finishing long and perfumed. To be released in the spring of 2019. – LPB

Just a beast of a wine, the 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Dr. Crane is one of the top wines in the vintage and is an incredible, insanely good effort that comes close to what this estate achieved in 2016. Blackcurrants, tobacco, chocolate, gravelly earth, and graphite all emerge from this youthful, primordial wine that stays tight and compact on the palate yet just oozes potential. Structured, full-bodied, and locked and loaded, it needs 4-5 years of bottle age and will cruise for 25 years or more. – JD
