Wine reviews
2017 Taub Family Vineyards
Cabernet Sauvignon
Beckstoffer
Missouri Hopper
Vineyard
Tones of compost, sage and baking spice accent this full-bodied wine, with a surprising freshness beneath its core of decadently soft red fruit. Showing plenty of structure and graceful length, it finishes on a crisp currant note. – VB
This late release is a beauty, with the fruit forward profile of the vintage, showing lush plum, raspberry and cassis flavors, without the slight mid-palate gap shown by many wines of the vintage. There’s also a nicely filled-in finish that delivers a second rush of anise, bramble and sweet tobacco notes. Drink now through 2030. 260 cases made. – JM
