A barrel sample, the 2017 Cabernet Franc Beckstoffer To Kalon is opaque garnet-purple colored and struts gregariously out of the glass with crème de cassis, dried mulberries, raisin cake and prunes with hints of tobacco, sandalwood and tilled soils. Full-bodied and packed with black fruit preserves, it is a bit chewy and finishes a little firm. – LPB
