2017 Carter Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon La Verdad
Beckstoffer Las Piedras Vineyard
The Wine Advocate 93 Points
October 2019

Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Las Piedras Vineyard La Verdad bursts with crushed blackcurrants, warm blueberries and black cherries with touches of raspberry leaves, baker's chocolate, licorice and lavender plus hints of cardamom and iron ore. The palate is medium to full-bodied with soft, grainy tannins and loads of juicy black fruits, finishing on a mineral note. – LPB

In the same mold as the La Bam, but with a touch more minerality, the 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Las Piedras La Verdad boasts a deep purple color as well as loads of ripe black cherry and plum fruits intermixed with notes of liquid violets, bouquet garni, and crushed rocks. Beautifully balanced and full-bodied, it has notable freshness as well as tannins. It needs 3-5 years of bottle age but is a beautiful, stunning 2017. – JD
