2017 Amici Cabernet Sauvignon
Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard
Wine Spectator 90 Points

Very forward, with warmed fig, steeped blackberry and açaí reduction aromas and flavors, supported by singed alder and espresso cream threads on the finish. Drink now through 2025. 150 cases made. – JM

I also loved the 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard, which has a more exotic, in-your-face style as well as more notes of blue fruits, flowery incense, violets, and spice. Full-bodied, balanced, and elegant, it too has a great mid-palate, nicely integrated oak, and some chalky minerality on the finish. Drink bottles any time over the coming 15 years or more. – JD

A blend of 80% Cabernet Sauvignon and 20% Cabernet Franc aged for 22 months in 100% new French Taransaud and Sylvain barrels, the 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon To Kalon is very deep garnet-purple colored and gives up expressive Black Forest cake, blackberry pie and warm cassis grip of chewy tannins, finishing on a mineral note. 191 cases produced. – LPB

Classic incense, exotic flowers, tobacco leaf, violets, and loads of sweet fruit emerge from the 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard. Offering up a full-bodied, layered, weightless style on the palate, it’s another powerful 2017 that doesn’t give an inch with regard to the 2016. – JD

A barrel sample blended of 80% Cabernet Sauvignon and 20% Cabernet Franc that's expected to age 22 months in 100% new French oak, the very deep purple-black colored 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer To Kalon offers up cassis, blueberries and black cherry preserves with hints of Indian spices and cedar chest plus wafts of sandalwood, cardamom and tilled soil. The full-bodied palate is very firm, muscular and taut with lovely herbal and mineral accents and great length. 201 cases are expected to be made. – LPB
