Coming from four different blocks in the vineyard, the borderline perfect 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer To Kalon has a massive amount of blueberry, cedarwood, potpourri, and dried violet aromas and flavors that just cascade over the palate. Made from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon that spent 28 days on skins and 20 months in new oak, this full-bodied, ultra-pure, seamless red blends power and finesse, and while already approachable, will cruise for 20-25 years. 125 cases. – JD
Aged for 20 months in 100% new French oak, the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard comes bounding out of the glass with expressive notes of blueberry compote, crème de cassis and plum preserves with hints of spice cake, unsmoked cigars, fragrant earth, violets and espresso plus a touch of black tea. Full-bodied, rich and oh-so-decadent in the mouth, it completely coats the palate with black fruit preserves and spicy layers, structured by firm, grainy tannins and great freshness, finishing very long and very delicious. 125 cases produced. – LPB
Very deep inky-purple colored, 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard (a barrel sample) knocks it out of the park with a bombastic black berry tart, plum preserves and blackcurrant cordial nose with hints of wild blueberries, baking spice, chocolate box and smoked meats. Full-bodied, rich and totally strutting its stuff, the palate features firm yet velvety tannins and a lively backbone supporting the generous, multilayered fruit, finishing with epic persistence. – LPB
