Inky purple-black in color, the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon George III Vineyard (a barrel sample) is a little mute at this nascent stage, revealing glimpses at blackcurrants, mulberries and preserved plums with touches of underbrush, truffles, mossy bark and bay leaves. Very earthy/mineral in the full-bodied mouth, it offers firm, ripe and grainy tannins, with great freshness, finishing long and minerally. Compelling. – LPB
