2016 Purlieu Cabernet Sauvignon
Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard
The Wine Advocate 98-100 Points
October 2017

Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard (a barrel sample) is youthful and closed, showing shy nuances of crushed blackberries, cassis and black plums with a fragrant earthy and floral undercurrent, plus notions of dried leaves and yeast extract. Full-bodied, opulent, powerful and firmly built, it has ripe, grainy tannins and a lively backbone, finishing with great length and depth. Pure class. – LPB

The deep garnet-purple colored 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard leaps wantonly from the glass like a rock star doing a stage dive, displaying bold layers of crushed black and red cherries, cassis and wild blueberries scents plus suggestions of cinnamon stick, star anise, sandalwood, oolong tea and potpourri with faint wafts of candied violets and molten chocolate. Full-bodied, concentrated and hedonistically perfumed in the mouth, it possesses a myriad of black fruits with a firm, velvety texture and very long, very spicy finish. – LPB
