Wine reviews
A barrel sample, the medium to deep garnet-purple colored 2016 Cabernet Franc Beckstoffer To Kalon has a red and black currants, black cherries and mulberries-scented nose with hints of pencil shavings, lavender and earth. Very big, full, rich, opulent and spicy in the mouth, it has firm, velvety tannins and a very long, perfumed finish. – LPB
The 2016 Cabernet Franc Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard is inky purple-colored and just about perfect in every way. Offering a kaleidoscope of blueberries, black cherries, forest floor, graphite, licorice and Asian spices on the nose, it's opulent and hedonistic on the palate, with a powerful, layered style. It's a big wine, yet it's beautifully delineated, pure, elegant and graceful, all while carrying incredible intensity of flavor. – JD
