Wine reviews
There is no disappointment with barrel samples of the 2015s I tasted from Vice Versa. The 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Dr. Crane Vineyard is another sumptuous wine – fat, chewy, unctuously textured, opaque purple in color with incredible notes of white flowers, crushed stones, blueberry liqueur and cocoa. It is dense, heady and, despite being 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, comes across almost like a thick, juicy Pomerol from a great vintage. Drink it over the next 20+ years.-RP
Very deep inky black colored, the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Dr. Crane Vineyard delivers wonderfully pure, sexy black and red cherry notes over a core of red currants, fertile soil, pencil lead and tobacco plus a waft of cedar chest. Medium to full-bodied, the palate is laden with earth, savory and red/black fruit flavors, supported by ripe, fine-grained tannins and beautiful vivacity, finishing long and minerally. 75 cases were made. – LPB
