2015 Vice Versa Cabernet Sauvignon
Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard
The Wine Advocate 97 Points
December 2017

The 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard displays a very deep purple-black color and is a little reticent at this youthful stage, with notes of freshly crushed blackberries, black currants and black plums with touches of Sichuan pepper, dried herbs, dusty soil and unsmoked cigars. Medium to full-bodied, very firm, pure and taut in the mouth, it offers a more restrained expression of this iconic vineyard with plenty of earthy/savory depth that should emerge impressively over the next 4-5+ years and drink for a further 30+ years. 175 cases were made. – LPB

The 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon to Kalon Vineyard is pretty much built along the same lines as the 2014, perhaps with lower acidity, more glycerin and an incredible energy behind all of the unctuously blue and black fruits that cascade over the palate so generously and effortlessly. It is a killer effort that will no doubt firm up with a few more months in barrel.-RP
