Medium to deep garnet-purple colored, the 2015 Cabernet Franc Beckstoffer To Kalon (a barrel sample) is composed of 98% Cabernet Franc with a 2% splash of Cabernet Sauvignon and opens with a nose of kirsch, red currant jelly and rose hip tea with hints of dried herbs and potpourri. Baked cherries and dried fruit flavors fill the full-bodied mouth, carried by a lively backbone, firm tannins and a long finish. – LPB
