A barrel sample, the very deep purple-black colored 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer To Kalon has a gregarious nose of crème de cassis, baked plums, blackberry preserves and licorice with touches of Indian spices, cigar box and cedar plus a waft of lavender. Big, rich, powerful and seductive in the mouth, the virtuoso fruit is well supported by firm, ripe tannins and wonderful freshness, finishing long and spicy. 150 cases are expected to be made. – LPB
