The other three barrel samples of the 2015s all emerge from the Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard, and included the cuvées of the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer To Kalon The Three Kings, 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer To Kalon The Grand Daddy and the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer to Kalon the O.G. I will have more specific notes on those when they are in bottle, but they were all upper-90-point wines with incredible density, opulence, voluptuous textures, layers of fruit and extract, sweet, succulent tannins, fabulous purity and rather intense and penetrating aromatic fireworks. This is another amazing vintage, as Napa Valley continues to roll on with one great success after another. The 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard The Grand Daddy is one the most intense and compelling wines in the range. Super-concentrated and unctuous, the 2015 exudes richness, but, unlike other less compelling wines made in this style, the alcohol and tannins are very nicely integrated. Readers who like flamboyant, sumptuous Napa Valley Cabernets will find much to admire. – Antonio Galloni
Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard The Grand Daddy features expressive cassis, blackberry tart and mocha notes with hints of pencil shavings, tilled soil and charcuterie plus a touch of menthol. Full-bodied, concentrated and laden with earthy-accented black fruits, it has a velvety texture, a hint of pepper and an herbs lift on the finish. – LPB

Just loaded with notions of blackcurrants, blueberries, violets, Asian spices, and chocolate, this beauty hits the palate with a phenomenal texture, full-bodied richness, and ultra-fine tannin. This is a true “Wow” wine in every sense and while it’s already hard to resist, it’s going to keep for two decades or more. – JD
