A barrel sample to be bottled in January 2018, the 2015 Janzen Beckstoffer Missouri Hopper Cabernet Sauvignon has a very deep garnet-purple color and is scented of cedar chest, crushed blackberries and black currant with touches of espresso and licorice plus a waft of underbrush. Medium to full-bodied, it has a firm frame of grainy tannins supporting the muscular black fruits and earthy notions, finishing on a cedary note. – LPB
