Wine reviews
Absolutely stunning is the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Missouri Hopper Vineyard. This has greater intensity than its older sibling, an opaque purple color, and intense aromas of charcoal, incense, white flowers, blueberry liqueur and blackcurrants. It is full-bodied, voluptuous and a hedonistic and intellectual turn-on. Drink it over the next 15-20 years.-RP This winery has a large and varied portfolio of wines, including their four value picks, which consumers need to notice.
Powerful and imposing, the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer-Missouri Hopper captures the essence of this famed Rutherford site. Dark cherry, spice, cured meats, menthol, new leather, bittersweet chocolate and a typical note of Rutherford dust run through this dense, imposing Cabernet Sauvignon. Winemaker Tony Biagi squeezed every ounce of potential out of this fruit. This is a gorgeous wine from Amici. – Antonio Galloni
Inky purple-black in color, the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Missouri Hopper has intense cassis, blackberries and warm plums notions on the nose with a vast mélange of Chinese five spice, chargrill, cigar box, menthol and licorice suggestions. Full-bodied, rich, ripe and opulent, it has a solid frame of velvety tannins and well-played freshness, finishing long and earthy. – LPB
