Very deep garnet-purple in color, the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Las Piedras Vineyard is scented of Blueberry compote, crème de cassis and Indian spices with hints of charcuterie, yeast extract, underbrush and potpourri. Very big, powerful, full-bodied and full-on decadent, it has a plush backbone and long, spicy finish. – LPB
The 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Las Piedras Vineyard (this is a warmer, older vineyard in St Helena) is another black/blue fruited beauty that offers beautiful opulence and decadence as well as notes of spring flowers, white chocolate, and exotic spices. Ripe, full-bodied and loaded with sweet fruit (which is the hallmark of the vintage), it will nevertheless improve for 2-3 years and keep for two decades. - JD
Supple and graceful, showing sufficient tannic muscle to give the flavors traction and depth, ending impressively, with dark berry, licorice, cedar and gravel notes. Best from 2020 through 2032. 500 cases made. – JL
