The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Desde Beckstoffer To Kalon is superb, as one might expect from this firstgrowth quality vineyard. It is an inky purple-colored wine with plenty of charcoal, creosote, graphite, blackberry and blueberry fruit, some floral notes, fabulous concentration, a full-bodied texture, and a long, pure finish. Renteria has clearly nailed this one. It is a beauty to drink over the next 15-20 more years.-RP Consulting winemaker Kirk Venge helps Oscar Renteria, who was born in St. Helena to parents who worked many of the vineyards in Napa Valley.
