Wine reviews
This is a beauty to drink in its next 10-15 years of life. The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Las Piedras Vineyard (100% Cabernet Sauvignon and 15.1% alcohol) has a more opaque, dense, bluish/black color, beautiful, juicy, succulent blueberries and blackberries, but not a much tannin showing at present. There's no evidence of real oak, either, for that matter, just gobs of fruit. The wine is beautifully pure and ripe and should be a hedonist's dream when finally released. Drink it over the next 10-15 years.
The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Las Piedras Vineyard is the superstar of this trio, but a tiny quantity of only 60 cases were produced. Opaque purple with notes of scorched earth, burning embers, graphite, blackberry, cassis and a touch of spring flowers, the wine is full-bodied and layered with sweet velvety tannin and a long finish. Drink it over the next 12-15 years.
