2014 Purlieu Cabernet Sauvignon
Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard
Wine Advocate 93-95 Points
December 2015

Gorgeous, almost explosive fruit jumps from the glass of the 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard. This is 100% barrel fermented and aged in 100% new French oak. Loads of crème de cassis, blackberry, licorice and incense are all present, as are light tannins, low acidity and a plump, juicy, super-irresistible style. This is a big, round Cabernet Sauvignon that tips the scales at 15.5% alcohol.-RP

The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer To Kalon is as spectacular as the Missouri Hopper. Here’s something about these vineyards that just screams first-growth quality. This one has classic Pauillac crème de cassis, spice box, charcoal embers, graphite and forest floor. It is full-bodied and opulent, with layers of fruit, and of course, being a 2014, the tannins are sweet and the wine already compellingly addictive and full of charm. This full-bodied classic should drink well young and cellar for 20 or more years.-RP
