One of the more angular wines in the lineup, the 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Georges III Vineyard offers impressive notes of crème de cassis, graphite, spring flowers and vanilla bean. Medium to full-bodied, with terrific purity of fruit, a focused, straight style, and outstanding length, it will benefit from short-term cellaring and keep for 15+ years. - JD

The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Georges III from Rutherford (which in the 1960s and early 1970s was one of the cornerstones of the great BV Private Reserves then) has a dense purple color, a sweet kiss of kirsch liqueur intermixed with cedar wood and blackcurrants. It is full-bodied, opulent, and should drink nicely for another 20 years.- RP
