2013 Myriad Cabernet Sauvignon
Beckstoffer Georges III Vineyard
The Wine Spectator 92 Points
November 2016

Brimming with intense, complex flavors, extending from dusty, savory earth to crushed dark berry, blackberry, currant, cassis and black licorice. This full-bodied version is persistent on the finish, revealing a high level of extraction and density. Drink now through 2032. 200 cases made.–J

An absolutely fabulous wine, the 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Georges III Vineyard has an inky bluish/purple color, extraordinary nose of graphite, blueberry and blackberry liqueur, forest floor and spring flora. The wine hits the palate with a full-bodied richness, stunning purity and an absolutely magnificent texture and length. It would be difficult to want more in a bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon than this. Drink it over the next 25 years.- RP

The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Georges III Vineyard has slightly more earthiness than the 2012, gorgeous blue and black fruits, a plump, fleshy texture, sweet tannin, brilliant purity and length. This is another killer effort from Mike Smith. Drink it over the next 15-20 years. This project of winemaker Mike Smith has started off with somewhat audacious, fascinating wines. I don’t know what the general alcohol levels are in his 2013s, but I suspect they are very much in keeping with what Myriad did in 2012: 14.9-15.1%. Kudos to Mike Smith. - RP
