2013 Macauley Vineyard Macauley Cabernet Sauvignon
Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard
Wine Advocate 92 Points
December 2015

The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard shows much richer fruit than the Cabernet Franc, but again has wonderful sweet tannin, low acidity and pure crème de cassis and blackberry fruit. It’s not one of the great Beckstoffer To Kalons, at least not yet, but certainly powerful and rich. Drink it over the next 10-15 years..-RP

Broad, rich and expansive, centered on a dark-colored core of blackberry, licorice, savory herb and underbrush notes, accented by spicy, toasty oak flavors and gaining depth and complexity as this extends on the finish. Drink now through 2032. 248 cases made.–JL

Mocha, baked plum and black pepper play equal roles in this stunning, full-bodied beauty from the famous site, all within a tightly focused, integrated experience of seamless texture and structure. Richly concentrated and yet able to find a balance of acidity and freshness within its voluptuous nature, this wine impresses from end to end and will do well in the cellar; enjoy best from 2023 to 2025.
