The 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer To Kalon The Three Kings possesses good fruit and ripeness, but it did not jump out at me as much as I expected. I thought the Hossfeld Coliseum and Cabernet Sauvignon Coliseum Block were slightly more interesting. The Three Kings reveals a touch of dilution, but the fruit is still beautiful with lots of cassis, flowers and spice. This medium-bodied 2011 is best consumed over the next decade. For a number of years, this has been one of most impressive portfolios in Napa Valley, and as one might expect, the 2010s are outrageous offerings..-RP
Slow to unfold, this features a mix of earthy berry, dried herb, underbrush and mulch notes, yet manages to straighten out on the finish, where the moderately ripe flavors show their appeal. Ends with a blast of ripe fruit, licorice and cigar box elements. Best from 2015 through 2022. 99 cases made. –JL
