2010 Carter Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon The Three Kings
Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard
Wine Advocate 99 Points
October 2013

The 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer To Kalon The Three Kings boasts off-the-charts richness and a stunningly majestic perfume of black, blue and red fruits, licorice, flowers and no evidence of oak. Full-bodied and opulent with a 50-second finish, this profound Cabernet Sauvignon should age effortlessly for 25+ years. For a number of years, this has been one of most impressive portfolios in Napa Valley, and as one might expect, the 2010s are outrageous offerings. - RP

Deftly handled, this packs a potent mix of extracted fruit, showing tiers of blackberry, anise, crushed rock, mocha and espresso, all supported by rich tannins. Exciting to drink. Best from 2014 through 2024. 112 cases made. – JL

A new addition to the lineup, the 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer To Kalon The Three Kings is intense, dark and powerful. Tar, scorched earth, incense and licorice are some of the notes that inform this brooding, inward Cabernet. The 2010 Three Kings doesn’t appear to have the pedigree of the very best Carter wines, but it is gorgeous just the same. Anticipated maturity: 2016-2030. I was deeply impressed with these new releases from Mark Carter and his winemaker, Mike Smith, this year. - AG
