2008 TOR Cabernet Sauvignon Clone 4
Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard
Stephen Tanzer’s International Wine Cellar 94 Points
May 2011

(Bottled entirely in magnums): Good deep red-ruby. Classic To Kalon aromas of currant, graphite and loam. Wonderfully rich and pliant, with captivating sweetness as well as a saline nuance to the perfumed dark berry and graphite flavors. The explosive, building finish displays serious but noble tannins buried under a wave of blackcurrant, minerals and chocolate. Not a bit tough, this wine can be approached now but should also give two decades or more of pleasure.

The 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer To-Kalon Vineyard Clone 4 is available only in magnum. It ratchets up everything found in the other two To-Kalon offerings revealing more perfume, cassis, body and finish. The result is an impressive wine that from magnum should last 30+ years.

An amazing wine that wows you with incredible depth, richness, focus and purity, offering tiers of great dark berry fruit, plum, cherry, cassis, crème de cassis and subtle smoky, toasty notes, ending with a long, persistent finish that highlights its purity and focus.
