This is a wine of power and heft, a classic example of its vineyard and of modern Cabernet. It’s almost a food group in itself, offering tiers of black currants, dark chocolate, roasted meat, violets, minerals, cedar and spices. The tannins are profoundly youthful, giving the wine a hard jacket of astringency. Anticipated maturity is around 2018. - SH
