Barrel samples of the 2006 Cabernet Sauvignons were also tasted. The 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard looks to be utterly profound. Its opaque purple/black/blue color offers up scents of incense, pain grillé, crème de cassis, licorice, cedar, and spice. With superb richness and stuffing as well as a huge, glycerindominated mouthfeel, and a long finish, this is an outrageously profound Cabernet Sauvignon from one of the truly great sites in California. It should drink well for two decades or more
