Wine reviews
Another brilliant effort from a great grand cru site is the 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard. It possesses an opaque ruby/purple color, full-bodied power, and notes of charcoal, pain grillé, crème de cassis, licorice, and incense. This full, opulent, fleshy wine coats the palate, displaying a seamless integration of all its component parts. Drink it over the next 12-15+ years
A seductive style, with amazing purity of flavor. Shows rich, elegant, supple currant and black cherry fruit shaded by jazzy mocha-infused oak, keeping hold on a tight focus. With a second sip, the depth becomes more apparent. Has impeccable balance, with a long, intense, persistent finish. Best from 2009 through 2020. 185 cases made. – James Laube
