A perfect wine, the 2002 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard comes from further north in the Oakville Corridor on the valley floor. One of the youngest wines in this tasting of 2002s, it boasts a classic Pauillaclike nose of black currant liqueur, spring flowers, charcoal and lead pencil shavings. With formidable intensity, stunning purity and a multidimensional mouthfeel, this beauty needs another 5-8 years of cellaring. It should keep for a half century given its weight, richness, overall balance and extract.
