The 2003 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer To-Kalon Vineyard H & C is another authoritative wine from this extraordinary vineyard that is undeniably of first-growth potential. One of the youngest, richest, most promising wines of the vintage, this stunning effort boasts an inky/blue/purple color as well as classic notes of blueberries, cassis, acacia flowers and licorice intermixed with a subtle hint of graphite. Spectacular in the mouth with fabulous full-bodied richness as well as a finish that seems almost endless, this is a candidate for the wine of the vintage. Extremely youthful and backward, this is a tour de force! Forget it for another 4-5 years and drink it over the following 25 years. –RP
