Wine reviews
Ripe, with an enticing juicy edge to its boysenberry, blackberry and mulberry fruit flavors, which are carried by licorice root, roasted alder and bittersweet cocoa notes through the finish. A bit amped up in style, but it will certainly have its fans. Best from 2023 through 2034. 650 cases made. – JM
The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Georges III Vineyard, from a famed site in Rutherford, brings up the elegance and richness level at the same time. Loads of black cherry, plum, toasted spice, violets, and tobacco notes define the nose, and it's full-bodied, with a round, seamless texture, ripe tannins, and a gorgeous finish. It's a stunning bottle of wine. - JD
Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Georges III springs forth with vibrant crème de cassis, blueberry pie and chocolate-covered cherry scents, plus touches of cardamom and forest floor. Full-bodied with lovely freshness and velvety tannins supporting the generous fruit, it has a persistent fragrant earth-tinged finish. – LPB
