Even more perfumed than the 2014, the 2015 Cabernet Franc Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard boast terrific aromas of currants, scorched earth, chocolate, forest floor, blueberries and exotic spice. Complex, nuanced, layered and multi-dimensional on the palate, with good acidity and a great finish, it should be reasonably approachable on release yet evolve for two decades. It doesn't appear to have the depth or concentration of the 2014, with brighter acidity, but is nevertheless and sensational looking barrel sample. – JD
