The 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer To Kalon is a statuesque, pristine wine. Dark fruit, smoke, tar licorice and new leather flow gracefully from this big, imposing wine. Firm yet well-integrated tannins provide the backdrop for a gorgeous expression of the To Kalon vineyard. Violets, mint and licorice wrap around the elegant, explosive finish. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2028.
Pure, rich and graceful, brimming with ripe, zesty wild berry, raspberry, black licorice and lead pencil. Full-bodied and very stylish, though not what you expect from a To Kalon bottling. Drink now through 2022. Slow to unfold, this features a mix of earthy berry, dried herb, underbrush and mulch notes, yet manages to straighten out on the finish, where the moderately ripe flavors show their appeal. Ends with a blast of ripe fruit, licorice and cigar box elements. Best from 2015 through 2022.
