Dense, rich and concentrated, with well-focused layers of ripe currant, blackberry and cherry fruit. Extremely wellbalanced, finishing with a tight core of fruity flavors. Very impressive for the vintage. Drink now through 2011. 295 cases made. – J. L
Surprisingly, the 2003 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard is even better. An inky/purple color is followed by a fabulously complex bouquet of licorice, crème de cassis, espresso roast, and spice box. Fullbodied, ripe, and concentrated, with sweet tannin, it can be drunk now or cellared for 15+ years.
